One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that people with less often seem more generous than people who have a lot. As a home health nurse, I’ve been in every kind of home imaginable. Strangely enough, when I go into large, beautiful homes, I’m usually not offered much more than a greeting. But in homes where people seem to be struggling and have very little, they’re often the first to offer me a drink, a snack, or a place to sit. It’s always fascinated me that some of the kindest and most generous people are the ones who have the least.
